The Islamic Council of New England which acts as an umbrella organization for many Islamic Centers in the New England area expresses its outrage at the mindless act of vandalism that took place at the Islamic Center of Burlington MA. It calls upon the law enforcement agencies, including the FBI, to investigate this act of hatred against a peaceful minority of the American citizenry until the hate-mongers are brought to justice. Hate has no place in our mutually respectful pluralistic society and we appreciate the overwhelming members of our society who display zero tolerance for bigotry. As law-abiding citizens of this country we pledge to work with all our fellow Americans, interfaith groups, civic organizations and above all with all law enforcement agencies to ensure that similar malicious events are prevented in the future.
