The Islamic Council has been for Collective Purpose and a Collective voice of The Muslim Community in New England. Established in 1984, Council has worked for the Unity and Collaboration amongst ALL Islamic Centers and Communities. The Islamic Council has seen and helped in the emergence of many Islamic Centers, The Council has remained an invisible Body but constantly working to defend Islam, and the Interests of the Muslim Community. We have been bringing Muslims together, every year at our ANNUAL CONFERENCES. The Council is a staunch proponent of EDUCATION and YOUTH Development. The Council grants scholarships to students, Grants to Islamic Educational Institutes, as well as to Professional Islamic Bodies such as CAIR, ICNA RELIEF, HELPING HANDS, JUSTICE for ALL . The Council,s motto, is “ And Their affairs are with Mutual Consultations “ “ Help and Cooperate with each other in matters of Righteousness and Piety” The Council has provided an opportunity to all the member Islamic Centers to work in cooperation, and provide leadership by turns . The Representatives from the member Islamic Societies, constitute the Council Body, and the Elected Officers, are all very active in their own Islamic Centers.
The Islamic Council of New England is an umbrella organization established in 1984 as a non-profit religious corporation. The primary objective of the Council is to provide a platform to Islamic centers and societies operating in the New England region of the United States for improved communication and coordination of their activities.
- To promote a spirit of unity and solidarity among Muslims
- To coordinate the activities of Muslim Societies
- To represent Muslims at the local, state and federal governmental levels
- To consolidate and share the resources of the Muslim Community
