The Civil Right Committee
The Civil Right Committee of the Islamic Council is charged with the responsibility of advocating for the protection of the civil rights of all individuals of our communities. The Council has formed alliances with other community groups and organizations that are similarly interested in the protection and the enhancement of the civil rights of their respective members.
The Council has presence at BRIDGES (Building Respect in Diverse Groups to Enhance Sensitivity) meetings where representatives of community groups meet with representative of law enforcement to address issues that may touch on civil rights.
