Statement to Condemn the Terror Attack on innocent worshipers at a Mosque in Egypt:

It is with deep sorrow that the Islamic Council of New England strongly condemns the utterly barbaric and evil act of terror on innocent Muslim worshipers at a mosque in Egypt today.
To date the precise identity of the perpetrators has not been established but it is speculated that it is a fanatical heretical group linked with either Al Qaeda or Isis. Regardless of which of these cults that claim to be an offshoot of Islam is responsible for the carnage, the action is totally antithetical to the principles of Islam.
Our hearts are heavy with the loss of so many innocent lives especially at the time of prayer, when they are in communication with God. We pray that Almighty God grants Paradise to all the innocent victims and provides comfort for the relatives who lost loved ones.
People of any faith, Muslims or non-Muslims should be able to worship without fear of being attacked or killed.
We trust that the Government of Egypt will do everything in its power to bring such evil people to justice, and ensures that such a crime against humanity never recurs.
