The Islamic Council of New England condemns the cowardly and heinous act carried out against innocent civilians celebrating the Boston Marathon on Patriots Day. The Council expresses its deep sense of sorrow that innocent victims have died and others suffered severe to life-threatening injuries. It extends its deepest condolences to those who lost loved ones and whose loved ones suffered ghastly injuries. It prays for the victims and asks Almighty God to grant peace and fortitude to their families. It pledges its support to the victims and their families and offers cooperation with all law enforcement agencies, to bring the perpetrator(s) of this crime against humanity, to justice. The Council is working with its interfaith partners and the Governor’s office to organize a day of Interfaith Prayer.
